CRITICAL ZONE SCIENCE: CURRENT ADVANCES AND FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
Sunday June 4 - Tuesday June 6, 2017
Hilton Hotel, Arlington, Virginia (near NSF)
The US NSF Critical Zone Observatories Program (CZO) would like you to participate in this meeting. Together, we will learn about the latest Critical Zone science results from the CZO network and elsewhere, and we will discuss how Critical Zone science can be moved forward into the future.
DEADLINE: April 1, 2017 for both registration and abstracts. CZO will evaluate registrations and respond by April 10.
THEME: "Critical Zone Science: Current Advances and Future Opportunities." This NSF-sponsored workshop seeks to assess the current state of Critical Zone science, and to consider how the next iteration of a Critical Zone science program can address key scientific, societal and educational questions about the Critical Zone.
PARTICIPANTS: We particularly seek to include scientists from outside the current US NSF CZO program, including those involved in other observing networks or who have other interests in Critical Zone sciences. Early career scientists are also strongly encouraged to participate.
MEETING CAPACITY: 200 participants. We will make every effort to accommodate a wide spectrum of scientists interested in the Critical Zone.
SUPPORT: We anticipate NSF support will cover on-site costs (shared rooms, meals) for up to 200 participants (the meeting capacity). Limited funds are available to partially offset travel costs for some participants. We will give preference to students and early career scientists in distributing these funds.
ABSTRACTS: Abstract submittal is optional. We will fit in as many presentations as we can; most will be posters. Abstract text is limited to 2000 characters, including spaces.
REGISTRATION & ABSTRACT SUBMITTAL: https://goo.gl/forms/ohzIK9aFE1iyxHm13. Free registration and abstract submittal (no fee). If you are submitting an abstract, prepare it first. You need to register and submit *at the same time*.
