Participatory Science Without the Parachute: Call for AGU Fall Meeting Abstracts B077

We are excited to invite you to submit an AGU Fall Meeting abstract by 31 July 2024 to “B077: Participatory Science Without the Parachute: Enhancing Mutual Benefit Within and Beyond Biogeosciences and Hydrology via Shared Learning Across Participatory Networks.”

This session explores ways biogeoscience and hydrology researchers can engage across both research and non-research communities to generate scientific discoveries rooted in mutual benefit, co-creation, and avoiding extractive behaviors. Participatory science networks span operational models (e.g., highly local; distributed). Each operational model comes with different benefits and constraints. This session welcomes examples of participatory fundamental and basic sciences. Presentations are encouraged to discuss how their participatory science network choices facilitate mutual benefit throughout the research lifecycle and to highlight opportunities for improvement. https://agu.confex.com/agu/agu24/prelim.cgi/Session/229093
