We invite applications for a Research Fellow (RF) to work within the Leverhulme Centre for Climate Change Mitigation (LC3M), an interdisciplinary centre that will assess the potential for Enhanced Weathering (EW) as a carbon removal strategy. The researcher will characterise EW in agroecosystems by determining weathering efficiency under field conditions and contributing to the biogeochemical characterisation of EW under laboratory conditions. Application of geochemical and isotopic techniques with associated geochemical modelling will enable the RF to assess variations in EW rates in different agroproduction systems across the globe as well as the effects of nutrient release and pH on food/bioenergy crop production. The position is based at the National Oceanography Centre Southampton, which is located in a purpose-built waterfront campus that is a collaborative research centre between NERC and the University of Southampton.
The post is available for up to 5 years, and will start in October 2016.
