Hello CZEN,
a team of fellow Critical Zone researchers just got a virtual NSF Convergence Accelerator workshop funded (“Managing Water for a Changing Planet”) and we think the expertise and perspectives of this group is crucial for this work - please consider registering! The main goal for this workshop is to develop visionary ideas on water from multiple perspectives that can be tackled in a 5 year time-frame (with lots of $$, see attached flyer for links to the website and registration).
Workshop dates are 10/25, 10/31, 11/2, 11/4, and registration deadline is 09/16, after which we will review registrations and finalize the participant list. Priority will be given to people who can participate the entire period, but we also welcome people who can at least participate on 10/31 and 11/2 (session 2 and 3).
I know our schedules are already bursting full; however, this is the type of event that will shape how NSF spends their money and we believe funding for water research is worth it (I personally think of it as the same as participating in an NSF panel).
If you have ideas/perspectives/opinions to share, but cannot participate in the workshop, please consider giving us feedback in a short survey we offer at the same website. This feedback form will be very important to integrate a variety of ideas into the workshop design and shape workshop outcomes. The form (and registration) also includes the option to suggest additional participants.
Thanks to all of you for considering
Cheers
Julia
