Interested in river corridors, watersheds, biogeochemistry, or open science? We’re looking for your guidance on @WHONDRS (https://whondrs.pnnl.gov/) crowdsourced sampling. The sampling is informed by artificial intelligence models developed by Parallel Works (https://www.parallelworks.com/) using open data from WHONDRS and other community resources. The science goal is understanding riverbed sediment biogeochemistry through continental-scale iteration between models and data.
This effort follows ICON Science principles to be intentionally Integrated, Coordinated, Open, and Networked (https://icon-science.pnnl.gov). ICON principles are used to build transferable knowledge in a way that is mutually beneficial with a broad range of stakeholders. We are looking for feedback on how we can maximize this mutual benefit. That feedback is welcome from anyone that is interested.
Please join us on Dec 2nd at 8-9am PST for a presentation on the current ideas, followed by an open discussion. Anyone can join by registering at this link (https://tinyurl.com/IMcall21).
