We seek a master's or PhD student to participate in a multidisciplinary study of river-groundwater interactions, chemical transport, and microbial population dynamics in alpine streams. The project will involve a team of hydrologists and microbiologists and will include researchers at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. The student's primary role will be to develop reactive transport models. Opportunities exist for field work in Colorado. The start date is Spring of 2017 but could be pushed to early summer. Desired qualifications include basic computer programming knowledge and high competence in math and chemistry (at minimum, strong grades in two semesters of calculus, differential equations, and two semesters of chemistry).
