Brief Site Description:
Fei-Tsui Reservoir (FTR) socio-ecological study site
Detailed Site Description:

FTR is the second largest reservoir in Taiwan. This reservoir is well protected from human activities since it has been the main drinking water resource for Taipei City. Hydrological data including daily inflow, outflow and reservoir total water volume and monthly water quality data have been monitored by the Fei-Tsui Reservoir Administration Bureau since 1987. Most of the area of Fei-Tsui Reservoir basin
is covered by secondary subtropical forests. In addition, there are numerous tea plantations on the mountain slopes or terraces near the riverine regions. The land uses of Fei-Tsui Reservoir basin includes forest (88.43%), agricultural (3.86%), water body (3.53%), grassland (1.20%), bare soil (1.11%), building (0.98%), orchard (0.45%) and farmland (0.44%). Regular monitoring of reservoir water quality include dissolved organic carbon (DOC), total phosphor a and coliform group.
