Brief Site Description:
Blue Valley Experimental Forest
Detailed Site Description:

The 526-ha Blue Valley Experimental Forest was established in 1964 to provide an outdoor laboratory in a forest dominated by eastern white pine, but it experienced only custodial management for the first 30 years. Several investigations of white pine-hardwood dynamics are underway. Extensive grazing and logging during the late 1800s and early 1900s are thought to have contributed to today’s substantial coverage of eastern white pine.
