Detailed Site Description:
The 0.44 km2 Baru Experimental Watershed was established in 1987 for research into fundamental hydrological and water quality processes and the study of the impacts of the first phase of commercial selection felling of lowland dipterocarp rainforest. The basin has been maintained by the Yayasan Sabah Hydrology project in collaboration with a range of universities, notably Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Manchester University, Lancaster University and Swansea University.
