Dr. Robert Detrick is identifying potential candidates for two important positions in the Surface Earth Processes Section in the Division of Earth Science at NSF.
The first position is Head of the Surface Earth Processes Section in EAR. This is a very important leadership position with responsibility for the Division’s programs in hydrologic science, geomorphology and land use, sedimentary geology and paleobiology, and geobiology and low temperature geochemistry. This position can be filled either with a career appointment to the Senior Executive Service or a 1-3 year limited term appointment. The application deadline closes December 1, 2009. The second position is Program Director for the Geomorphology and Land Use Dynamics program, including oversight of EAR’s new effort in Critical Zone Observatories. Richard Yuretich, the current program director, will be returning to the University of Massachusetts in June 2010. This position can also be filled as a permanent career appointment or as a 1-3 year limited term (rotator) appointment. This vacancy should be posted on the NSF web site within the next few days.
