Call for Abstracts.
Please consider submitting an abstract to the Clays & Soil Formation session at the 54th Annual Clay Minerals Society (CMS) Conference that will be held in Edmonton, Alberta on June 5 – 8th, 2017. Suggested topics include but are not limited to nutrient cycling and weathering processes, biological effects on clay formation, and carbon stabilization in soils.
The CMS conference will be held this year in conjunction with the Oil Sands Clay Conference, a biannual conference on the impact of clays on oil sands extraction, processing and tailings treatment/remediation and reclamation. Additional activities include a 3-day Canadian Powder Diffraction Workshop, Field Trip “Dinosaur Hunting in Drumheller” and tours of University of Alberta, Oil Sands, and Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Conference theme this year is Living Clays.
