Most recently funded projects for CZEN
A fundamental goal of CZEN is to encourage and promote interdisciplinary research among a network of sites, people and data that span environmental gradients. Until recently the fledgling network has worked to establish the most promising sites with only an eye toward the final goal. But recent awards by the National Science Foundation to support Critical Zone science proposals provide an important step in more quickly building the network. Researchers in the U.S. are encouraged to write proposals to pursue research that crosses the sites within CZEN.
Graduate student deep biosphere research collaboration opportunity
DEBI RCN Graduate Student Education Exchange
The Dark Energy Biosphere Institute (DEBI) Research Coordination Network (RCN) on the deep biosphere funds graduate student exchanges to facilitate collaborations among deep biosphere research groups, with the end goal of building and educating the community. Between 2-4 awards of $1-3K each will be granted annually for students to spend 1-6 months in a host lab to carry out research activities prohibitively difficult or impossible at their home institutions.
The next deadline for applications is September 1, 2010.
